oh, hello tie-dye, vinyl records and disco ball mini cupcakes! It's friday, are you ready for saturday night fever?! These little ones are chocolate flavoured with cream cheese icing. Cream cheese doesn't hold up as well as buttercream, but you can still add some funky colours and have some fun with it. The tie-dye effect is created when you combine two icings in your piping bag, one strip of colour on one side of the bag, another strip of colour on the other side, close the top and pipe away.
I watched my first episode of Bitchin Kitchen last night, Nadia is pretty extreme but she looks like she is having fun, she's real, and she is not afraid to say what she thinks. I admire that. Plus she makes some yummy dishes. http://bitchinlifestyle.tv/
Who doesn't love a sugar cookie? There are so many great shapes you could work with, and royal icing, while fussy at first to get the right consistency, is fun to work with. These were taken from my iphone! They were made for my 50s bridal shower. Those are suppose to be glasses in the second photo, but they also make great moustaches!
Crappy weather makes you think too much. My previous blog was the evidence. But today is sunny and bright. Much better.
Here is a lovely cake I made for a lovely bride to be, Franca. A secret to dressing up cakes, the nice jewel bling are broaches the bride purchased for both cakes.
I don't practice yoga, but I have been to a few classes. Does that count? I know I need to get some exercise in my life, I need to decide what that will be and how I am going to stick to it. I've been reading the happiness project and it's honestly has me thinking way too much. I have many projects on the go but there is still so much I want to do. I want to make more cakes, experiment even more, but working full time limits that. I want time in my evenings, time in my weekends, to be creative and pursue the crafty projects I've been thinking up, but i just can't seem to find that time. Maybe I need a priority list, or set some realistic goals.
I've always wanted to start a blog. Let's call it therapy. Here is a photo from my honeymoon, doesn't it make you feel nice?
